One of the biggest things the bride and groom have to look forward to is their Honeymoon. The Wedding Day takes so much preparation and planning that the Honeymoon is the ideal way for the bride and groom to relax and enjoy their first few days or weeks of married life.

Where to go on your Honeymoon can be as big a decision as any of the other Wedding Day decisions you have just spent weeks if not months making. Do you both like the same things when on holiday or are you going to have to find compromise with your Honeymoon destination?

Some of the more popular Honeymoon choices are all-inclusive resorts where everything is paid for in advance. For a Honeymoon this can be the ideal choice after the expense of the Wedding. You can order snacks, meals and refreshments without worry about a final bill.

Many people envisage themselves on Honeymoon relaxing surf side with a cocktail in hand, the sun high in the sky and everything done for you. But if that’s not your idea of a good time then why not Honeymoon somewhere that little bit different. Honeymoon in the mountains at a secluded ski resort has a certain appeal.

What time of year your Wedding takes place can have a bearing on where you choose for your Honeymoon destination. If you have chosen a winter wedding then you may want to continue the theme whilst on Honeymoon and a ski resort with roaring fire is ideal. Maybe you want the complete opposite and are looking for some winter sun on Honeymoon.

Whatever it is that you are looking for on Honeymoon spending time with your partner after the stress of the Wedding is the most important thing. Use your Honeymoon to unwind and relax and wherever you go…..have a ball!

For years tradition has dictated what was ‘acceptable’ when planning a wedding. The long white gown, the programmed church ceremony, the rented reception hall with the arranged seating and the sky high wedding budget were all considered to be proper wedding etiquette.

Well it is the year 2006 and those traditions are fast falling by the wayside! Today your wedding can be anything you want it to be. Pastel wedding gowns are definitely “in”. Your wedding ring does not have to be a diamond. Your reception doesn’t have to be a stodgy sit-down affair and you guests don’t need to be afraid to cough during the deafening quiet as you exchange vows.

Today, beach weddings are becoming very popular as more and more savvy couples opt for less traditional, more relaxed settings for their big day. Beach weddings can be much cheaper, less stressful, and just all around plain fun. They allow you to involve everyone in the activities. Guests are not restricted to sitting quietly in their seats. They can actually be a part of the celebration!

A beach wedding allows you total creative freedom and there are so many ways to go.

  • You may choose and elegant sunset ceremony with a formal reception under a grand white tent illuminated by candle light and tiki torches. You may choose to just ‘cut loose’ with an afternoon ‘fun-in-the-sun’ beach party by exchanging your vows at the water’s edge, spreading the beach towels and having a barbeque reception.

  • Your gown may be a beautiful Hawaiian “holoku”, a beach wrap, sarong or a simple sundress.

  • Your wedding cake might be a tiered cake, a sheet cake, a sculpted cake, individual mini cakes, cupcakes or even cookies!

  • Your favors may be elegant chocolate shells or sand dollars tied in pretty tulle bags or just plain fun items such as sunglasses, mini beach pails and sunscreen.

  • Your music may be as simple as bringing a great sound system and playing your own favorites or you may choose to “limbo” to the sounds of an authentic steel drum band playing Calypso and Reggae music.

  • Your theme may have a Caribbean or Hawaiian flavor, or you may choose to incorporate your own favorites such as dolphins, mermaids, lighthouses or sea creatures. You could have a western beach wedding and leave on horseback. Have a nautical wedding and sail away into the sunset. Oh, there are just so many possibilities!

If you are lucky enough to live on or near a beach already, you are halfway there. If you don’t, not to worry, there are endless locations that offer beautiful wedding packages to fit your budget.

By the way…don’t rule out your beach wedding ideas because you don’t live near an ocean or can’t afford to go to one. The definition of a beach is - “the shore of a body of water, especially if sandy or pebbly”. That includes lakes and rivers. For that matter, you may have a “beach” by your swimming pool. There are no rules. Be creative!

As with everything in life, there are pros and cons to having a beach wedding. They are nothing to worry about, just be aware of them and plan for them. Your wedding day will be a wonderful and joyous event!

Just remember…it is your beach wedding! It can be anything you want it to be - wherever you want it to be! Most of all…have fun!

Brides have been distinguished through the history of manhood for wearing special clothing that becomes the focus point of the celebration. The wedding dress has existed for centuries, becoming particularly important in Europe during the middle Ages and the Victorian Era.

Today, even the informal wedding dress retains the symbolism associated with the cultural and traditional heritage of the diverse countries around the world. In the USA, the wedding dress took the name of the wedding gown and its history can be traced back at least for 200 years.

The British settlement in Jamestown was the scenery of the first wedding traditions brought from their homelands as early as the beginning of the American colonization; however, there is no register explaining or depicting the bride’s clothing.

A bridal gown has been always attached with different symbolism, including the white color, white for purity, and something old and blue for good luck of the newly married. The Wedding dress is like an image, it may worth a thousand words… when exists.

Contrary to European women, brides in America began to save their wedding dress around the last 100 years, and a couple of years ago the DAR museum in Washington, DC, featured the exhibition of the early wedding gown.

The informal wedding dress evolved to a more elaborate wedding gown during the 19th century, adding later the tradition of wearing a mother’s wedding dress in the ceremony as a sentimental and acceptable option, but Victorian traditions are more popular today that they were in those times.

In the United States, a bridal gown influenced by European styles was usually only seen in ceremonies held by wealthy people. There is evidence of multicolor wedding dresses available in those early days of the American wedding dress history.

However, white became the preferred color for both the informal wedding dress and formal wedding gown after the famous royal wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1840. The wedding dress with train and veil became the new trend of the 1870’s.

The 20th century brought a new type of bridal gown, with a slight trail of fabric behind, and confectioned with embroideries, laces such as Venice, Honitan, and the popular Chantilly with reminiscences of different previous weddings styles.

The Wedding dress became officially known as the wedding gown during the 1930s, denoting the luxurious floor length clothing worn by brides in the middle of the Depression Era in America, and the informal wedding dress became popular after the pop revolution of the 1960’s.

Has timing always been an issue for you no matter what you try
to do? Maybe you’re someone who can be creative, but you’re not
sure when would be the perfect time to surprise your husband or
wife. Timing can be crucial depending on the sort of romance you
have in mind with your spouse. Sometimes you must plan romance
while other times you have to always keep a watchful eye out for
the right moment to present itself. You might think you are
blind to those moments or you simply don’t have any instinct for
timing, but here are a few ideas to get you started and
hopefully find your own groove.

Guys, when you arrive at home with your wife, you can take this
opportunity to ’sweep her off of her feet’- literally! Have you
ever carried your wife over the threshold of your house? Well,
it’s a gesture that never gets old. The timing can be tricky
with this one, though. Don’t do it while either of you have a
bag or bags in your hands or while she’s on her cell phone.
While the women may feel that this is an appropriate action to
take with their men, it most likely won’t work. If you feel you
must give it a try, more power to you!

Create a home that is your romantic getaway location for both of
you. Always keep a number of items that you can use in order to
transform your home into a romantic hideaway. Keep a box filled
with romantic scented candles, music, flowers and wine and keep
some sensuous foods in the kitchen at all times. These can
include strawberries, grapes, whipped cream and anything else
that sparks your imagination.

When one spouse leaves a trail of clothes from the door all the
way to the bedroom where they are waiting, it is always
acceptable and a hit! You can also use a different version of
this classic by leaving a trail of lit candles that lead to the
bedroom. As always, the brightest burning flame should be that
of the person waiting in the bedroom. Don’t be surprised if your
spouse’s flame matches yours by the time he or she reaches the
bedroom!

For romantic moments at the workplace, simply take the time at
work to stop, call your spouse and tell them that you love them.
Copy your face or a part of you body on the copy machine and
send it to him or her with a funny or suggestive note. Send him
or her flowers at the office or to the restaurant where he or
she is having lunch. Mail him or her your contact information on
a Rolodex card with a memo saying, “Love Source. Call when
lonely or horny.”

Finally, make sure you check his or her schedule ahead of time
before attempting this next move. Pack a pillow and a blanket in
a picnic basket and go to his or her office during the lunch
hour. Tell his or her secretary to hold all calls, lock the
office door and turn off every source of outside communication.
Make love on the desk. It will most likely be some of the best
sex you both have had in a long time and could become a habit!
