The 77-year-old man from Nepal is now the oldest person to have reached the top of Chomolungma or Mount Everest. Sherchan just 23 days away from his 77th birthday beat the age record set last year by 71-year-old Japanese teacher Katsusuke Yanagisawa.

Min Bahadur Sherchan last attempt resulted in the rescue of Lincoln Hall, an Australian climber who was left by his team in the “death zone.”

With the Chinese preparing for the impending summer Olympic Games, Bahadur Sherchan noted that the government’s actions hardly reflected the Olympic spirit. They flexed their muscles this year all the in name of the Olympic spirit, but it was hardly spirited at all.”

Hall was frostbitten and severely disoriented due to altitude sickness. Andrew Brash returned a hero to Calgarians. Andrew Brash returned this week from Nepal after successfully climbing to the summit of Everest. The Chinese were flying their airplanes over the Mount Everest and had Chinese officials in Kathmandu. More than 3178 people have climbed to the summit since it was first conquered in 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary, who died in January, and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay.

As he planned for the climb, Sherchan told reporters he wanted to inspire fellow senior citizens. He also said many Nepalese have established records on Mount Everest, so it was only fitting that the record for the oldest climber to reach the summit should also belong to a Nepali. Further, he was all too aware of the potential dangers Mt Everest could bring. Certain parts of the climb are more dangerous than others and it is important for climbers to remain focused Nepalese climber, 74, oldest person to scale the top of Chomolungma His first found him within 193 metres of the peak when his team stopped to help a fellow mountaineer who was left for dead. later, Bahadur Sherchan, a University of Calgary alumni, returned to Mount Everest to finish what he had started.

“The Chinese weren’t allowing anybody on Mt Everest. They ended up commandeering it for themselves, even though Chomolungma or Mount Everest is shared by two countries. Now that Min Bahadur Sherchan has successfully scaled the tallest mountain in the world, he is once again ready to focus on his family. “the Mount Everest this year became a political pawn,” he said with some frustration.

Andrew Brash and four climbing guides reached the 29,035-foot (8,850-meters) summit of the world’s highest mountain early Sunday, said Ramesh Chretri, an official with Nepal’s ministry of tourism.

Nevertheless, the decision to actualize a long-time personal goal left Andrew Brash with some internal uncertainties, he cited the political actions of China and Nepal as providing the greatest adversity he faced on his journey. This season French alpinist Anthony Loeff is reporting the scales for Everest after reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro earlier this season.

They basically coerced the Nepali government to not allow any climbers past camp two on the Nepali side.

“James. Psstt. Sleepy James, wake up,” Lily whispered.

James was about to put his pillow over his head when he remembered what today was. He sat straight up in bed. “Did he come?”

“I don’t know. I was waiting for you,” Lily said.

James and Lily hurried down the stairs in their pajamas and opened the front door. There were two empty baskets on the front porch.

“Oh, no!” said James, “No Easter Bunny.”

“Wait,” said Lily. “There’s a note.”

Together, they read the note.

Dear James and Lily,

There are eggs and candy,
Chocolate bunnies, too,

but they are hidden away,

and can only be found by you.

Solve the riddles and you will find your Easter treats.

Love,
The Easter Bunny

“It’s a treasure hunt,” said Lily.

“Where’s the first clue?” asked James. He turned the note over. “Here it is.”

Clue #1

I wipe your feet.

I keep dirt away.

Look under me.
Another clue will point the way.

“What does that mean?” Lily said.

James looked down. “The welcome mat.”

Lily lifted the mat. Taped underneath was the second clue.

Clue #2

In the fall, I turn colors.
In the winter, I am bare.
Springtime is the best.
I have new green to wear.

“A tree turns colors,” said Lily.

They ran to the big tree beside the swing set.

“There it is,” said James.

Clue #3

I let you in,
I shut you out.
Sometimes you stand on me
and swing about.

“The door,” said Lily.

“Wait. We can’t swing on the door,” said James.

They thought and thought.

“The gate,” James said.

They ran as fast as they could to the gate and there was the next clue.

Clue #4

Your hunt is almost through.
You have one more thing to do.
Your treasure is beside
Something shiny, red and new.

“My new bike,” said Lily.

They ran back to the shed behind the house and there, right beside Lily’s new bike, were two baskets filled with Easter candy.

“This is the best Easter ever,” said James, as he bit the ears off of his chocolate bunny.

“I hope the Easter Bunny does this again next year,” said Lily.

“Me, too. Let’s go show Mom and Dad what we got,” said James.

Overlooking Jordan, Israel and Saudi Arabia, Taba is a paradise for active holidaymakers and outdoor types who enjoy diving, surfing, sailing and catamarans, as well as walking or motorbike tours in the mountains.

The border town between Israel and Egypt, this Egyptian Riviera was once a rest town for traders using the caravan route to the fort of Aqaba at the northern-most edge of the Gulf of Aqaba.

Recently, Taba has experienced a growth spurt on its coastline and is now home to a number of leading hotel chains that have built luxurious resort hotels around a new luxurious resort called Taba Heights, which is 15 km south of the border.

Although Taba is a man-made holiday resort, it offers a wonderful vantage point for traveling into the Sinai desert, visiting Bedouin camps, and enjoying the still unspoiled coastline.

The views across the Gulf of Aqaba to Jordan and Saudi are very picturesque, especially at sunset when the mountains appear to turn red.

Taba Attractions

The Monastery of St. Catherine - One of the most popular excursions from Taba, St. Catherine’s Monastery is located at the foot of Mount Sinai. This monastery was constructed under the Roman Emperor Justinian in the 6th century. One of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world, it is built around what is thought to be the site of Moses’ Burning Bush.

It is a well-preserved monastery with a spectacular natural setting for priceless works of art, including Arab mosaics, Greek and Russian icons, Western oil paintings, paintings on wax, fine sacerdotal ornaments, enamels, marbles, chalices, and reliquaries, including one donated by Czar Alexander II in the 19th century, and another donated by Empress Catherine of Russia in the 17th century. St. Catherine’s Monastery also holds the world’s second largest collection of illuminated manuscripts.

Mount Sinai (or the Mountain of Moses) - Mount Sinai is considered sacred by the Muslims, Jews and Christians; it is believed that God delivered the Ten Commandments to Moses on this mountain.

The 2,285-metre-high summit is easy to scale and most hikers stroll up during the night to avoid the heat and to capture the view of a stunning sunrise. You could also dare yourself to go by camel caravans or up the Steps of Repentance which has 3000 steps carved into rock monks.

Pharaoh’s Island and Salah El Din Citadel - One of Taba’s main attractions, Pharaoh’s Island is quite stunning. This rocky island is surrounded by outstanding blue and turquoise water that was once a Phoenician port.

Pharaoh’s Island is crowned by the ruins of the 12th century crusaders’ fort. This fort was built to protect the pilgrims on their journey from Jerusalem to St Catherine’s Monastery, and to levy taxes on the Arab merchants. If you are interested, you could also go snorkeling in the reefs surrounding the island’s nearby waters.

Diving Sites - Taba offers boat diving as well as shore diving from its several dive centres. The Canyon offers a diving depth of 40 metres and a stunning topography with lots of soft coral and fish, and amazing hard coral formations. The Picasso Reef, 200 metres from the shore, is an underwater mountain that leads down 24 metres to huge table corals. On a level of 12 metres, this reef is full of fish, including Picasso Trigger Fish.

The Coral City has huge Brain and Mountain corals that support many Lion Fish, occasionally Stone Fish and tiny Silver and Glass Fish. The Angel Net is full of huge coral blocks. Taba also offers the most beautiful collection of small Red Sea Banner Fish at the Ben Coral.

Taba Cuisine

Ful is a type of bean that is cooked in several ways, e.g. in ful midamess, whole beans are boiled which can be eaten with vegetables, mashed with onions, tomatoes and spices. This is also eaten with many other food dishes. Molokhiyya, a leafy-green summer vegetable used in soups and salads, is also popular with the Egyptians.

International cuisine is readily available in the hotels. The Egyptian meat-koftas and kebabs are a must-try for everyone. Veggies can sample chickpea balls called falafels, hoummos, and baba ghanoug (aubergine and tahina). Conclude your meal with a dessert treat of lip-smacking sweet honeyed pastries or baklavas!

Taba Heights Beaches

Marriott Beach - This is only a half-kilometre of private sand beach, which has waterfalls, a Jacuzzi, a cave, and a huge outdoor freshwater slide. A favourite with tourists is the swim-up bar, the children’s pool, and the children’s club (for children of 4 to 11 years of age).

You could also indulge in a wide variety of beach sports such as water-skiing, wakeboarding, pedaloes, windsurfing, snorkeling, and diving.

Taba Parks & Gardens

National Park of Nabq - Stretching over 600 square kilometers, this national park is home to a variety of animal life, including herons, ospreys, storks, foxes and gazelles.

National Park of Ras Abu Galum - Further up north is the Abu Galum natural reserve, which has granite coastal mountains. Here you will find an abundance of plant and animal life, which also includes the Nubian ibexes, hyraxes and red foxes.

The Perfect Time to Visit

Summer can be quite hot in the Sinai, with temperatures often touching 40◦C/106◦F although the cool ocean breeze provides some respite. Cooler times to visit is during March to May or October to November when the mercury hits a pleasant average high of 28◦C/85◦F.

Although Crohn’s Disease is a difficult disorder, you should not keep yourself from living the best life possible because you suffer from this disorder. You should continue in your life as you would without Crohn’s, although a few more precautions may be necessary. When traveling, this will ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip.

The first thing you should do, whether you are traveling abroad or close to home, is locate a doctor in the area you will be visiting. There are several organizations available to utilize in your search or you can simply ask your doctor for referrals.

If you are taking prescription medication, you should be sure to take plenty for the duration of your trip. You should also keep it with you when you travel on the plane to avoid it being lost in the heaps of luggage. Always keep your medication in its original container and a typed statement from your doctor regarding what medications you are taking and what they are for. You will also need to get copies of all of your prescriptions, including foreign names, in case you have to refill them abroad. However, you should avoid this by carrying enough medication with you, as filling prescriptions in other counties can sometimes be difficult.

A common ailment among travelers to less developed countries is known as “traveler’s diarrhea”. This can be especially dangerous for sufferers of Crohn’s Disease and special care should be taken to avoid it from occurring. Basically, traveler’s diarrhea occurs from the ingestion of water or food that is not as stringently processed as in the United States. Steps that should be taken include being very careful about what you eat or drink; do not drink water unless you boil it; avoid drinks made from tap water, like tea or juices that may have been mixed from concentrate; use bottled water to drink and to brush your teeth with; avoid ice, ice cream, and uncooked fruits, vegetables, and meat; avoid diary products as they may not be pasteurized; and do not eat any questionable food. If you become affected with traveler’s diarrhea, take an over the counter medication and be sure to intake plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.

Also watch for signs of a medical emergency, such as high fever or chills, which may be a sign of infection; profuse rectal bleeding; extreme abdominal pain; dizziness; or dehydration. If any of these occur, seek medical attention immediately.
