Never Be a Idiot to Get an Web Engineer
I have been having monumental issues recently with my wireless setup. In about five minutes I get disconnected, every time I connect with another network apart from my residence network. I am not a pc genius, but most of the times I get along with not too many problems, if my internet was not working at all, then I would blame my own incompetence.I tried to repair the issue myself however exhausted all of my technical know how as a result had no alternative but to call the hardware supportline provided by my internet service provider. I knew that it is not going to be a pleasing experience, earlier also I had hassle with them when I had a problem. Without sounding racist I don’t quite get it why so many British call centres are outsourced to India. Though, Indian representatives are all the time well mannered, but they sound like robots repeating the same thing time and again and never giving a direct reply with a yes or no. Even though spending a premium for fast and easy support, I got through a consultant after waiting for about twenty minutes on a national price number. At the starting of the call I had pressed a wrong key on the long list of options. Then the operator put me through to the correct division after another 10 minute wait in another queue. The representative diagnosed my internet line and informed me there is a tiny problem in it. He also informed me that I would have to pay and call for an engineer to get the problem solved. On asking the consultant about the associated fee for the same, I got a really hazy response saying that it relies upon whether there’s an engineer in your region. I asked him what’s the point of spending for a pc support each month when I have to pay to the engineer. It was lets face it a problem with the phone line and not with my laptop or pc settings. I was getting the similar response again and again, it was like talking to a wall, so I declined the engineer visit and started searching for different alternatives.I called my friend Bruce who was a bit of a techy to see if he might help. He came round to my home and fixed the issue in actually 2 minutes, he said there was only a setting that was improper on my computer, so why did the call centre agent say that there was a problem with the phone line? The answer to get more money out of me!
