Car Rental
It’s amazing how many cars there are that are rented out. What happens to all of these cars? Everyday,on my way to work, I pass this train depot, where there are hundreds of cars being delivered every day. Lots of them are going straight to car dealerships, and lots of them are going to car rental companies. Now the car rental companies get brand new cars at least every two years. After those two years the rental companies need to get new cars. So what happens to the old ones? Most of them go to vehicle auctions, where dealers bycars in bulk. Many of them get sold to other little privately owned car companies. Andregular individuals buy some of them. Most of these cars are like new, and have much of the factory warranty on them. It’s a great way to get a good deal on an American made car. Most of thebig car rental companies even have their own car dealerships. This is also a great place to buy a car at a discounted price. Since they are getting new cars all the time, they need to sell all those cars fast to make room for the new ones. Usually, when I am in a rental car, it’s a convertible. Because, usually I don’t need one unless I am on vacation, and I go on vacations in sonny places. The best car that I ever rented was an old 1970’s Volkswagen Bug convertible. Well it wasn’t really a convertible, because it had no top at all. We got it when we were in Mexico. We ended up staying in Mexico for whole month and had that car the whole time. It only ended up costing us $100 for the whole time. What a great deal.
